Etienne's Arrest
L'article analyse l'arrestation d'Étienne (Actes 6.8-12) à Jérusalem vers 34-35 ap. J.-C. Bien que désigné parmi les Sept, Étienne exerce un ministère apostolique remarquable. Son témoignage suscite l'opposition de Juifs hellénistes qui, incapables de le réfuter, recourent à de faux témoins pour le faire comparaître devant le Sanhédrin. Luc souligne les parallèles avec le procès de Jésus et l'extension progressive de la persécution à toute l'Église.

La comparution d'Étienne devant le Sanhédrin (Actes 6.12-15), vers 34-35 ap. J.-C., est initiée par des opposants hellénistes de la synagogue des Affranchis. Incapables de réfuter sa sagesse, ils recourent à de faux témoins. Les accusations portent sur le Temple et la Loi, rappelant le procès de Jésus. Luc dessine ainsi un parallèle intentionnel entre le Maître et son disciple.

Saul and the Martyrdom of Stephen
L'article ADA030 analyse Actes 8.1-3 : la première apparition de Saul de Tarse, qui approuve le martyre d'Étienne, et le début d'une grande persécution contre l'Église de Jérusalem. La dispersion des croyants en Judée et Samarie, loin d'être une défaite, devient providentiellement le moteur de l'expansion de l'Évangile, accomplissant la promesse de Jésus en Actes 1.8.
