Announcement of the Destruction of Jerusalem
In Luke 19.41-44, Jesus approaches Jerusalem, weeps over the city and foretells with precision its future destruction by the Romans in AD 70. Only Luke reports this episode in this form. Jesus laments that Jerusalem did not recognize its divine visitation. This passage reveals both the compassion of the Messiah and the gravity of rejecting divine revelation, and it belongs to the last week before his arrest.
Mark 8.31 (King James Version) :And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org

Jesus the Messiah washes the feet of his disciples
This article examines Jesus’ washing of the disciples’ feet, a singular act recounted by John, symbolizing the reversal of human values and illustrating Jesus’ central message: to serve out of love. This event, set in Jerusalem during the last Passover meal, reveals to his disciples the true mission of Jesus by anticipating his crucifixion.
John 13.4-11 (King James Version) :He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org
