Intellectual property
The studies. The studies published on Schilo (articles, appendices, information sheets), their writing and their organization are the work of Dominique Lormier, author and creator of the articles, who holds the intellectual property rights to them. © 2023 Dominique Lormier — all rights reserved. The PDF files of the studies may be downloaded, printed and shared freely for personal or non-commercial use, without modification and with credit to the author; any other use, even partial, requires the written consent of Dominique Lormier, to be requested through the contact form. A short quotation remains permitted, with the author's name and the source (Schilo, with the address of the page).
The site. The design of the site, its source code, its administration and the structure of its development are the work of Eric Philippot, author and creator of the application, who holds the intellectual property rights to it. © 2023 Eric Philippot — all rights reserved. The code is not published; any reproduction or reuse, even partial, requires his written consent.
The Bible texts. The Bible versions quoted remain the property of their publishers, under their own terms; each one is named, with its rights, at the end of the PDF file of the study that quotes it.
Contact form and newsletter
The contact form asks for your first name, last name, email address and message. This information is used only to reply to you; it is never shared or sold. Once handled, a message is deleted after 12 months.
If you tick the updates box, your address is kept so that we can announce them to you, until you unsubscribe: every email contains a link to unsubscribe in one click.
Audience measurement
The site counts its visitors once a day, without cookies. Your IP address is never recorded by the site: only a fingerprint scrambled with the day's date is kept for 7 days, and it cannot be used to recognise you from one day to the next. Afterwards, only a number of visitors per day remains.
The country you are browsing from is deduced from your address at the time of your visit; only the number of visitors from each country is kept. IP address geolocation: IP Geolocation by DB-IP, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.
The site also counts, as daily totals, the pages read and the time spent reading them, their language, the name of the site you came from, the type of device, the browser and the operating system, as well as a few actions: sharing, accessibility tools, opening an appendix or a definition. None of this can identify you.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets no cookies for its readers. It only keeps in your browser, without sending anything, the language you chose and the studies you have already read; you can clear them from your browser settings.
Page translation
Translated pages come from existing translations, or from the DeepL service: only the page's text is sent to it, never anything about you. If DeepL is not available, the page may go through Google Translate, which then receives your visit.
Hosting provider logs
Like any hosting provider, Infomaniak keeps technical connection logs (including the IP address), stored for a limited time, for the security and proper operation of the server.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data concerning you by writing through the contact form. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
