Persecution
Article ADA031 analyses the great persecution of the early Church in Jerusalem (Acts 8.1-3), around the year 34-35. After Stephen's martyrdom, repression spreads to all believers, including women. Saul of Tarsus is its chief instigator, driven by a sincere but misguided zeal for Jewish traditions. This text illustrates the fulfilment of Jesus' warnings about persecution and foreshadows Paul's future conversion.
John 15.20 (King James Version) :Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org
