The appearance before the Sanhedrin
An exegetical study of Acts 5.27-33, recounting the apostles' appearance before the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem. Facing Caiaphas's accusations, Peter confidently proclaims that obedience to God takes precedence over obedience to human beings, and announces that Jesus, crucified and risen, is exalted as Prince and Savior to offer repentance and forgiveness to Israel. A foundational episode in the apostolic mission.
Acts 4.13 (King James Version) :Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org
