Triumphal entry into Jerusalem
Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on March 27, AD 33, fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah, is a messianic declaration of peace. This event, described in all four Gospels, presents Jesus not as a conqueror but as the Prince of Peace. In response, the crowd acclaims him, affirming his messiahship.
Matthew 21.6-11 (King James Version) :And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org -

The return to Bethany
After his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus leaves the city in the evening to return to Bethany with his twelve disciples, including Judas. Related mainly by Mark (11.11) and Matthew (21.17), this episode, set on Sunday, March 27, AD 33, illustrates the rhythm of the last week: days at the Temple, nights near Bethany. The disciples use these journeys to ask their Master about the meaning of his messianic acts.
Matthew 21.17 (King James Version) :And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.King James Version (1769), domaine public — texte : eBible.org
